Heart-warming and entertaining. Jack Nicholson, Greg Kinnear and Helen Hunt are such a joy to watch as they all embraced their characters in this movie. Carol (Helen Hunt) can sometimes be annoying whenever she sulks into her sadness, but can also be endearing. Same goes to Melvin (Jack Nicholson), he may seem like the most horrible person on earth because of the words that come out of his mouth, but he still manages to get my sympathy no matter how horrible his character can get. The only downside though is the film being too long. It could easily have been an hour and a half. But putting the lengthy duration aside, this film was fine.
